The benefits that come from the dried seed of the fruit, were first discovered by the medicine men and more recently is being used in traditional medicine throughout West African Hospitals. The seeds are crushed or powdered, encapsulated and taken orally. The powder can be used to make tea, but do to its extreme bitter taste, it must be sweetened extensively with natural sweeteners.
It is used predominantly as an anti- inflammatory, for pain relief and as a muscle relaxant.
The plant produces alkaloids Pericine and Akuammine and have the same structure as Yohimbine and Mitragyna

As far as pain relief goes Akuamma can be a hit or miss for me but if you take enough of a dose of it it usually will help ease the pain. I tried it for my Toothache pain & did help the pain to where I could stand it but really helped my stomach pain more. So can be weird on the type of pain you are treating. I guess it’s for Muscle Pain rather than Nerve Pain. It does give a slight relaxing mood lift when taken in a higher dosage but for a short time lasting no longer than an hour. The taste of this is just so bitter. It is a good pain reliever. It just depends on what kind of pain your in. 71/100
